Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us at Gable View Homes. This policy has been prepared by Gable View Homes (“Gable View”, “Gable View Homes”, “we”, “us”, “our”). The following outlines our policies as it relates to the collection and handling of your personal information by Gable Views. Reference to “Gable View” shall include employees, agents, successors, assigns and websites and through other interactions with consumers of Gable View Homes.

What is personal information

Personal information means any information about an identifiable individual. This includes information such as:

  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number, birth date, and e-mail address;
  • Demographic information, such as household information, age group, and purchase plans; and transaction-related information.

Gable View Homes does not collect any personalized information from you other than what you voluntarily provide to us in the course of you requesting further information.

 

Guest Registry

When you visit one of our sales and presentation centres and complete a Guest Registry form, we collect contact information such as your first and last name, mailing address, email address and mobile, work or home phone numbers. You may also choose to provide optional information such as your current housing situation, reason for moving, desired housing characteristics, family status, number of adults and children, age group and annual household income. We use the information provided on the Guest Registry form to better understand your needs, assist you in finding a suitable home and to send you tailored communications about Gable View Homes, products and services. We also use this information on an aggregate basis to better understand our customers and to improve our product and service offerings.

 

Buying a Home

When you complete an Agreement of Purchase and Sale for a residential property through Gable View Homes, we collect the information you provide on the Agreement including the first and last name and contact information (such as mailing address and telephone numbers) for each purchaser, real property description, and purchase amount.  We use this information for the purposes of facilitating the residential property transaction. We also collect information necessary to verify the identity of purchasers (such as a valid government-issued identification) as well as a personal cheque for deposit purposes.

For our clients, the primary purposes for collecting personal information are as follows: Gable View Homes collects personal information for the purpose of marketing research, for the sending of newsletters and other promotional offers, and to complete the building of our homes right through contracts, appraisals to closings.

 

Marketing Communications

When you complete a Guest Registry form or otherwise sign-up to receive information regarding Gable View Homes, financial services and related products and services, we collect your contact information such as your name, mailing address, mobile, work or home telephone numbers and email address. We use the information you send you communications based on your interests by mail, email or telephone. You can opt-out of receiving future marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link included in our email communications or by contacting us as set out under “Contact Us” below.

 

Survey and Customer Research

An opportunity may arise for you to voluntarily participate in one of our surveys or other customer research programs. In the event that this opportunity arises we may collect certain personal information such as your name and email address.  The information obtained through our surveys and customer research is used in an aggregated, non-personally identifiable form to help us understand our customers and to enhance our product and service offerings.

 

Customer Service

When you contact us with a comment, question or complaint, you may be asked for information that identifies you (such as your name, address and a telephone number) along with additional information we need to help us promptly answer your question or respond to your comment or complaint (for example, lot number, warranty enrollment number, etc.).  We may retain this information to assist you in the future and to improve our customer service and product and service offerings. We also use personal information to establish and manage our relationship with you and provide quality customer service.

 

Who Collects It

Gable View Homes may collect information from you through any of it’s employees, its website or other clearly identified third parties acting for and on behalf of Gable View Homes.

Information related to your IP (Internet Protocol) address may also be collected from all visitors automatically by software used by Gable View Homes website and other related information such as page requests, browser type, operating system and average time spent on our Website.

This information is used to help us understand our Website’s activity, and to monitor and improve the Website but shall not be used by Gable View Homes to identify anyone visiting the website without your express consent unless otherwise compelled to do so by law or in accordance with this privacy statement or as permitted pursuant to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Document Act, 2000, c.5 (“Pipeda”).

Information collected by Gable View Homes shall be for the exclusive and sole use of Gable View Homes other than as provided herein. Gable View Homes shall not share your information with any third parties without your express consent or otherwise as required by law.

 

Sale of business

Personal information may be provided to third parties in connection with a prospective or completed business transaction, including a merger or sale (including transfers made as part of insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings) involving all or part of Gable View Homes or as part of a corporate reorganization or stock sale or other change in corporate control.

 

Protecting Personal Information

We understand the importance of protecting personal information. For that reason, we have taken the following steps:

  • Paper information is either under supervision or secured in a locked or restricted area.
  • Electronic hardware is either under supervision or secured in a locked or restricted area at all times. In addition, passwords are used on computers.
  • Paper information is transmitted through sealed, addressed envelopes by reputable companies.
  • Staff is trained to collect, use and disclose personal information only as necessary to fulfill their duties and in accordance with our privacy policy.

External consultants and agencies with access to personal information must enter into privacy agreements with us.
